C/Z Purlin Stacker: Drawing & Bundle Inputs

Prepare C and Z section drawings, exit orientation, bundle patterns and changeover requirements for a project-specific purlin stacker review.

What should I send for a C/Z purlin stacker quotation?

Send the actual C and Z section drawings, their revisions, material thickness and length ranges, an end view of the profiles leaving the roll former, and the requested bundle arrangement. Add the cut-off discharge conditions and the method used to remove a finished bundle. A profile width or a photograph alone is not a complete selection brief.

This guide is for the C/Z purlin turnover-arm stacker in our catalogue. It prepares a configuration enquiry, not a structural purlin design, tooling design or operating programme. For profiled deck sheets, use the floor deck input guide.

Single-piece weight is a selection limit

Maximum lifting weight per individual profile: 300 kg. Do not select MCZ-Z-400-10 if any individual profile weighs more than 300 kg. This is not a finished-bundle load rating or the machine’s approximately 2.5 t self-weight. At or below 300 kg, geometry, tooling, incoming orientation and the bundle arrangement still require review.

Provide the heaviest individual profile weight in kg for each variant, with its drawing or measurement reference. If weight is estimated or unknown, mark it as such; do not treat missing information as confirmation that the limit is met. Download the MCZ-Z-400-10 English specification PDF.

Documented model and profile range

The latest supplied export specification identifies model MCZ-Z-400-10 for C, U and Z profiles: 3,000–13,000 mm length, 100–400 mm width and 1.5–5 mm material thickness. It describes two handling arms linked by a transmission shaft, with positioning, gripping and layered mechanical turnover—not sandwich-panel vacuum handling.

Use these documented ranges as enquiry references, not approval of every section or bundle. For U profiles, attach a separate dimensioned end view; the C/Z diagrams below are not U-section drawings. Confirm actual geometry, incoming orientation, tooling and the requested stacking sequence for each job.

Which section details belong in the drawing pack?

C section · end view

Identify the web, both flanges and return lips in the actual dimensioned drawing.

Z section · end view

Show the opposite-side flanges, lips and any unequal or local features separately.

Conceptual section shapes—not dimensioned profiles, tooling drawings or compatibility approval. Dashed guides indicate drawing information, not gripping or support positions.
One record for each proposed C or Z profile
InputWhat to attachWhat needs confirmation
Drawing identityPart number, revision, units and a dimensioned end view.Identify the exact profile represented by each sample.
Section geometryWeb, flanges, lips, bends and any unequal features; holes or local features relevant to handling.Ask the supplier to review contact and gripping suitability against the actual drawing.
Material and lengthMaterial designation, actual thickness or gauge definition, coating, individual weight if known, minimum and maximum lengths.Label estimated weights; do not turn an estimate into a machine load rating.
Incoming conditionEnd view with travel direction and open-side orientation; representative photos or video.Confirm the proposed receiving arrangement rather than assuming C and Z parts arrive alike.

Keep C and Z drawings separate, even if their nominal size is similar. Catalogue dimensions are a starting point for discussion; they do not independently approve every lip, flange, gauge or perforation pattern.

Label the incoming view and travel direction

End view · orientation

Here the C opening points right. Label your actual incoming orientation; this is not a required machine setting.

Plan view · travel

Show line travel in a separate top view. The travel arrow is not the section’s open-side label.

Conceptual view-label examples only. For Z sections, identify a flange/lip or another drawing reference rather than assuming a C-style opening. Provide actual photos or video with drawing and sample IDs.

How should I describe the required bundle?

Layer · end view

Sketch pieces per layer, each orientation and the intended alignment reference.

Bundle · side view

State layer count, lengths, requested separators and the finished-bundle handover.

Illustrative counts, spacing and shapes only—not a suggested recipe, stable nesting arrangement or approved bundle. Use a separate sketch for each C/Z variant and requested orientation sequence.

Attach an end-view sketch of a typical layer and a side view of the finished bundle. State pieces per layer, layer count, orientation changes, separators if requested, and the intended alignment reference. Mark which requirements are fixed and which may be discussed.

Show the requested handover position and whether strapping, labelling, separators or staged bundle removal are part of this enquiry. Do not assume these tasks are included in the stacker offer. ASC’s own purlin stacker description distinguishes incoming C-section orientation from bundle staging; its equipment options and capacities are not specifications for our machine.

Does automatic stacking include automatic C-to-Z changeover?

Not necessarily. Make a change list covering section shape, gauge, length, incoming orientation and bundle pattern. Ask the supplier to identify which changes use a stored recipe, which need mechanical adjustment, and which require different tooling.

Request the proposed changeover scope for the actual drawing set. Do not compare a headline changeover time unless the start/end points and included tasks are stated. The shared stacking guide explains the distinction between forming-line changeover and outfeed stacking.

What line information should accompany the profiles?

Identify the roll former and cut-off arrangement, discharge height, travel direction, available run-out equipment and actual part arrival intervals for the intended jobs. Describe how a full bundle is removed and whether the existing line pauses during removal. If the figures are measured, include the observation conditions; otherwise label them as requested or estimated.

These are review inputs, not buffer sizing, guarding clearances or wiring instructions. Ask for a project-specific layout and an agreed controls-interface scope. For an existing line, also use the retrofit checklist.

This is a preparation checklist, not a completed technical record. Leave unknown values open and keep sample identities tied to drawing revisions.

Complete the common project section and the C/Z purlin section. Keep drawing references and sample identities together; leave unknown fields open rather than guessing.

C/Z purlin stacking questions

Can I select this model for a profile above 300 kg?

No. The maximum lifting weight per individual profile is 300 kg. Any individual profile weighing more than 300 kg excludes MCZ-Z-400-10; weight below this limit alone does not approve the full configuration.

Can one drawing cover every product in my range?

Only if it clearly defines each variant. Include a product list and identify changes in section, thickness, length or bundle arrangement. Unrepresented variants remain subject to review.

Does fitting the catalogue width prove compatibility?

No. The section geometry, incoming orientation, material condition and required bundle also belong in the selection brief.

Can I use the same bundle pattern for C and Z sections?

State the arrangement you need for each section. A pattern suitable for one job should not be assumed approved for another.

Can this sheet specify a building span or purlin load capacity?

No. It concerns factory handling and stacking. Structural design belongs to the building project’s responsible designer.
