Prepare your PE wrapping brief.
Define the complete bundle, the required packaging finish and both conveyor interfaces before selecting a wrapper for a sandwich panel line.
Where wrapping fits in the line
Conceptual material-flow map, not a machine layout. Wrapping receives an already prepared bundle; it does not build or flip the stack.
Horizontal orbital wrapping—not strapping
The product moves lengthwise through a rotating wrapping ring. Film is applied around the bundle as it advances. Robopac’s horizontal wrapping overview describes this equipment family for long products including panels. This is general process context, not a specification for our machine.
Our Full-Stack PE Wrapping Machine is the downstream packaging product. Separate strapping, shrink heating, stretch hooding and end sealing must not be assumed to be included.

Measure the complete bundle—not one panel
Provide minimum, typical and maximum finished-bundle width, height, length and total weight. Include supports, edge protection and any protrusions that travel through the wrapper. Identify panel count and alignment; label estimated values.
Technical illustrations, not dimensioned engineering drawings. The shapes, support positions and layer counts are illustrative only.
Ask for the usable passage drawing
A ring diameter alone does not approve a rectangular bundle. Width, height, protection, support arrangement and operating clearance all matter. Request the actual usable passage drawing and a review of the complete travelling envelope. No numerical clearance is prescribed by this guide.
Keep three kinds of dimensions separate
The 1,200 × 1,200 mm package section is a documented configuration, not a verified maximum usable aperture. The 1,200 mm conveying surface height is a conveyor-level value; confirm its measurement datum, not bundle height. Overall machine width/height of 2,500 / 2,600 mm are external dimensions, not package clearance. A separate maximum usable package height is not confirmed in the supplied brief; request the actual passage drawing for the complete bundle, including supports and protection.
The published configuration has a 1200 × 1200 mm package section. The linked-line example’s requested 1250 mm height is 50 mm higher than that documented height. A revised aperture or a lower bundle target remains to be agreed; the gantry’s proposed stacking height is not the wrapper’s working height.
Specify the film and the finished package
Send the supplier’s film data sheet
- Material/grade, thickness and thickness units.
- Film width, core inside diameter, roll outside diameter and roll weight.
- Stretch/cling characteristics where specified by the film supplier.
- Required overlap, coverage and any protective layers.
FROMM’s orbital wrapper information lists film width/thickness, ring speed, tension and conveyor options separately. These are useful selection categories; its values and automatic functions are not our specifications.
Agree overlap and tension through a representative sample
Ring rotation and bundle travel together influence the wrapping pattern. Film tension should be reviewed with the selected film, board surface and edge protection. Agree the desired finish and request a representative trial with recorded settings; this is a proposed review step, not a claim that CSM has completed such testing.
Side coverage
Describe full-length or selected-band coverage, reinforcement areas and how the film begins and ends.
Ends & storage
Specify end protection and indoor/outdoor storage conditions. PE wrapping alone does not establish sealed ends, weatherproofing, UV resistance or a storage-life guarantee.
Agree both conveyor handovers
Proposed interface questions—not existing I/O, wiring or safety logic. Same-direction travel does not independently establish compatibility.
| Boundary | Prepare for review |
|---|---|
| Mechanical | Travel direction, transfer heights/datum, conveyor gap, support sketch, roller arrangement and the complete bundle envelope. |
| Loads | Total bundle weight and load distribution; separate ratings for every conveyor segment. A stacker’s single-panel payload is not a full-bundle transfer rating. |
| Controls | Proposed bundle-complete, ready-to-receive, transfer-release and fault-response requirements; agree which supplier owns each interface. |
| Arrival & removal | Actual or requested intervals, job mix, transfer pauses and removal method. Identify who moves the finished bundle and the available floor space. |
| Access & safeguarding | Request a project-specific supplier review of guarding, operator/maintenance access and linked-line stopping behavior. This guide does not prescribe safety circuits or clearances. |
Use the gantry stacking + PE wrapping solution for the proposed process sequence and the retrofit checklist for existing-line information. The gantry product handles individual panels before packaging; its specifications remain separate.
Separate documented values from project requests
| Documented item | How to use it |
|---|---|
| 1200 × 1200 mm section; 16000 mm length | Starting configuration. Submit the full envelope and request fit confirmation. |
| 3000 kg effective load | Equipment parameter; the source brief’s approximately 2800 kg bundle is a different value. |
| 5–10 m/min conveyor speed | Not finished bundles per hour. Include wrapping, spacing, transfer and removal conditions before specifying output. |
| 1200 mm conveying surface height | Not package height. Check the actual datum at the adjoining conveyors. |

Keep unresolved functions visible in the quotation
Film grade and roll limits, numerical overlap limits, usable aperture details, automatic film clamping/cutting/sealing, end-face coverage, roll change and finished-bundle output are not established by the supplied document. Manual/automatic operating modes do not independently confirm those functions. Do not adopt another manufacturer’s specifications as CSM capabilities.
Download a blank project input sheet
English TXT · one record per bundle and film combination. Record dimensions, drawing references, film data, packaging finish, both handovers and unresolved scope. This is a planning sheet—not a machine manual or acceptance certificate.

Questions before selecting a wrapper
What should I send for a PE wrapping quotation?
Send the minimum, typical and maximum finished-bundle dimensions and weight, a labelled end view, protective supports, film-roll details, the requested packaging finish, arrival intervals, conveyor heights and the removal method. Label measured, requested and unknown values separately.
Is ring diameter the same as usable package width?
No. A bundle has both width and height, and protective materials can enlarge its envelope. Ask for the usable passage drawing and operating clearance for that complete envelope; a ring diameter alone is not a compatibility approval.
Does PE wrapping mean waterproof or sealed ends?
No. Side wrapping, end protection and fully closed packaging are different requirements. State the required coverage and storage conditions. End sealing, weatherproofing and outdoor-storage suitability are not established by our supplied equipment brief.
Does automatic mode include automatic film cutting?
Not necessarily. The supplied configuration states manual and automatic modes, but does not specify automatic film clamping, cutting, sealing or roll change. Confirm each function separately in the quotation.
Can conveyor speed be converted to finished bundles per hour?
Not on its own. Record bundle length, spacing, wrapping pattern, start and finish operations, arrival intervals and removal time. The documented 5–10 m/min is conveyor speed, not an acceptance-tested packaging rate.
Can a 1250 mm bundle use the published 1200 mm height?
That fit has not been confirmed. The requested bundle is 50 mm higher than the documented standard package height. Agree a revised usable aperture or a lower finished-bundle target; do not treat a small difference as clearance.
Send the bundle—not just a panel size
Attach the completed sheet, labelled end/side views and film information. Mention “PE wrapping project inputs” and identify measured, requested and unknown items in your enquiry.
